Subscription Policy
How recurring billing, renewal and cancellation work for our subscriptions.
Introduction
Hugbúnaðarhús Framtíðarinnar ehf. ("HBHF", "we", "us", "our"), a private limited company registered in Iceland under company registration (kennitala) 661125-0980, offers website hosting, ongoing service and upkeep of that hosting (the service fee), and Vefumsjón AI Care as recurring monthly subscriptions. This policy explains how billing, renewal and cancellation work. By subscribing you agree to this policy together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Plans and pricing
Hosting is billed as two separate lines:
- Hosting (Hýsing): the server your website runs on. Plans range from VPS #1 to VPS #6, and static websites can be hosted without a VPS.
- Service fee (Þjónustugjald): a flat monthly fee per website or server, covering security and dependency updates, uptime monitoring and response when the site is down, daily off-site backups and restores, SSL/TLS renewal, DNS and the deployment pipeline. Content changes and new work are not included.
Vefumsjón AI Care is a separate monthly plan (Starter, Growth or Pro) for changes to your website, with a monthly allowance of credits.
Prices are in Icelandic króna (ISK) and exclude 24% VAT (VSK). The prices that apply to you are set out in your offer. Extra storage and memory are available as add-ons.
2. Hosting without the service fee
You may choose to pay only the hosting line. In that case you get the server and nothing else: no updates, monitoring, backups, restores or support from HBHF. Any work, including fixing an outage or a security breach, is billed at our hourly rate, with no promise of a response time.
3. Billing cycle
Subscriptions are billed monthly, in advance. The first charge is taken when your subscription is activated. Each later charge is taken on the same day of the month (your billing date).
4. Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically every month, and your saved payment method is charged automatically, until you cancel.
5. Usage-based charges (Vefumsjón AI Care)
Each Care plan includes a monthly allowance of credits. Requests beyond your allowance are billed as overage at €5 per credit, converted to ISK at the time of the charge, and added to your next monthly invoice. Large or structural work is quoted separately and is not covered by the monthly credit allowance.
6. Payment method
Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Payday. Your card details are stored with Payday, not on our servers. You authorise Hugbúnaðarhús Framtíðarinnar ehf. to charge your payment method for the recurring subscription fee, and any applicable overage, each billing period.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel at any time by getting in touch through our contact page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then. We do not provide partial refunds for the remaining part of a billing period.
8. Refunds
Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable once charged, except where required by law.
9. Failed payments
If a charge fails, we will contact you and retry. Service may be suspended if payment is not received.
10. Price changes
We may change subscription prices. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before a change takes effect. Your continued use after that constitutes acceptance of the new price.
